I just put 6.5's in the doors...they fit perfectly. in the rear I put some 6x9's in but they don't provide enough bass for my taste. I may get some 6x9 enclosures for them someday. In the meantime, i'm running a single 12" Kicker sub in a sealed box. I'll probably switch to a single 8 or 10" in a tube or smaller box so I can save some room.

Well that is kinda tricky. I simply took a dremel tool to the plastic and made the 6x9 fit. Problem is for speakers to work effectively you have to seal the air in front from the back so the gaps will need to be filled somehow. I used a lot of silicone and cardboard. I know it's ghetto but oh well. This is another reason I want to get 6x9 enclosures for the back. The stock screens still fit over them depending on the design of the 6x9. I have 4 way 6x9's and the screens barely fit.

Considering I'm the Instalation manager for a local Stereo shop and fellow CRX owner I guess I should chime in here.
The Infinity Bass Link you were asking about is a great sounding all-in-one package. I have been very impressed with the sound quality as well as the output of these units. Mounted vertically it should fit between the back seat and the rear compartment, but you'll lose the use of the storage compartment behind your seat. The sub will provide more output and better sound if placed in the rear compartment but I understand the desire to keep that area open. I accualy built an enclosure replacing the storage compartment in my car that I'm no longer using, mostly because I prefer the sound of the subs placed farther back.

The sub I used is Pioneer's new shalow mount subwoofer. It's only 4" deep allowing you to still be able to drop the divider down. at .6 cu ft, it's really too small for a 12", even this one, but an adaptor ring could be made to mount a 10" or 8" sub in it. A deeper sub could be mounted with the magnet facing out but you'd loose the ability to drop the divider. I just have this enclosure lying arond now and am willing to sell it for the cost of materials if anyone is interested ($50.00 + cost of shipping for non-locals) more pics of the building process can be found here:

(sorry for the shamless plug, on to answering your questions....)
I've also heard of people mounting 8" subs into the factory rear locations. I've looked into doing this to mine, but you'll need to do some creative fiberglassing and have some shallow 8's to pull it off. I never run mids / highs in the rear locations of my vehicles anyway (they don't use rear speakers at concerts, so why should I in my car?)
As was mentioned above the standard 6.5" is the speaker to get for the doors, it's also the standard size for the rear. You may need to cut out the back of the plastic basket for magnet clearance unless you get some really shallow speakers. What some manufacturers call a 6.5" is accually closer to 7" and wont fit the Hondas so you need to be carefull which ones you choose. Your local stereo shop can guide you in the right direction for your car.
Adding a moderate 4-chanel amp would definately be nice and I've mounted several different amps inside of that storage compartment behind the seats.(Memphis amps fit VERY nicely) Just don't bolt the amp straight down through the metal under the compartment!!! the gas tank is located just below! pull the compartment from the car and mount the amp to it, then re-install the compartment. Then you know your tank is safe.

I have a set of q forms to mount some 6.5"s and a set of tweets, then i have some 8" midbass drivers in the doors( still fit behind grill ).

Look at that ricer interior paint.
haha just messin with ya man. I know you dont have that **** anymore.
What 8s are you using? Any major mods needed to fit them?
edit- Saw your setup in the appearance forum. Sounds like something I could pull off without to much effort.
