Default New ATS Clutch and Flywheel

If anyone is interrested in this clutch, i highly suggest it. I believe its the ATS Carbon, and its amazing. No chatter, extremely light flywheel, its simply an amazing product. I will be doing a writeup on the 1st s2000 in the US with it really soon.

Stay tunned

My appologies. This was the car it was designed from. Clutch was released aug 1st, unless i am thinking of the wrong clutch. Pics and writeup coming within the next 2 weeks.

So they fixed the pull/push conversion? That way it's a stock replacement now?

bah, you already have it on the car, rode around and still can't say anything? spill the beans already, I know the assembly itself is lighter than the stock flyhweel, but the thing with this car is that even with a lighter flywheel on the stock clutch assembly doesn't yeild that large of a difference for me to justify the cost of an aftermarket flywheel. It's not the same difference as installing a lightweight flywheel on a type R or other B series engines since the s2000 already comes with a pretty light flywheel from the factory.

I know I know!

.......Some stranger in Fort Mill had that car and mine at the same time

Justin - Who was tempted to bust out the credit card when that "stranger" told me he had another ATS carbon clutch sitting in his shop

Yes, i hear your car is great too. I almost came to see your car tinkered with by the "stranger" last time you were down. Stock looking s2k's with a funny studder around 4000rpm always excite me.

Stranger had that other clutch? That might be a hot item with many on the board. I have the bseries clutch like this for a while, also from the stranger, and it was amazing. Highly suggested. Hopefully, i can get some videos to add to the thread i will be making.

I think my car was in great hands with that "stranger"

Looking forward to the writeup

.....and with all this ATS carbon clutch talk, I might just have to have one.

So they fixed the pull/push conversion?

the clutch is a weird mix of push/pull, with different release fork, fulcrum, slave cylinder and brackets

I'll try to make sure Ben has all the data to give a good write-up.

How much torque is this clutch suppose to be able to handle?

I think i'll be in the market for this as my next clutch.

If you get the optional carbon coated flywheel, it will hold 360 ft-lbs. I ordered one a few days ago. Should be delivered from Japan in about another week.

I believe it will. I dont see too many setups doing over that in TQ, but i could be highly wrogn. I dont think it will be as bad as you are thinking about.

Anyways, Jack and myself (yes, Ben got some hands on) just finished retuning the s2000 and were surprized to pick up about 8HP to the wheels, an amazing number since the car is STILL on the stock cat, stock header, and stock airfilter setup. We both are very interrested to see what gains the car will see with these things upgraded. People have seen upwards of 12-16hp on the header, another 6-9 on the intake, and prolly a cool 5-15 on the cat depending on how the day is with that cat. My thread will be coming soon, including detailed pictures of the Push/Pull mechanism. Also, theres alot of bling here, so you will enjoy. Also, did i mention VIDEO! Theres alot of it. Im not sure what ill be putting on there, but we will see.

That torque is that of the 550rwhp range. I'm going for much more than that.
