Valve Seal Job on H22...
Anybody in here done the valve seals on an H22? Anybody had a shop do them?
Anyone know what the Parts and labor should run??
I am thinking $50-100 for parts (online not at a dealership) and 1/5-2hrs of labor.
I called a local Honda dealership and off the top of his head the guy guessed $120 for parts and $300-500 minimun for labor!!!!!!!!
How long does this job take?
ANY ADVICE APPRECIATED (I'm trying to stop oil burning problem for as little as possible.)
Oh and oil comes out my PCV valve on the top passenger side of my valve cover does that also indicate the valve seals or am I way off here?
THANKS

You're probably looking at around 10 hours work all in all as the cylinder head has to be removed from the engine and then stripped down just to get to the valve seals.
Yep really.
How much oil are you burning per 1000miles? Most VTECs I know use a bit if the motor is used reasonably hard (properly used
)
There may be somebody out there that would be willing to do the job without removing the head but IMO it is not best advised.
They may be able to do it by hooking up a compressed air feed into the cylinder to stop the valve from dropping when the springs are compressed but the access to the stem seals is very restricted even when the valves are out so with them in place it'd be very nearly impossible I would imagine.
If it's not using too much oil then I'd say forget about it and just enjoy driving the thing
