Default how can i get more power

I have finished all the basics, i/h/e/c/fpr/im/, but am still looking for more power. I know i eventually want to do cams, but until then is there anything i can do for under $500 that will give noticable power gains.

would a vafc make more power with a stock motor and basic bolt ons?

making double digit hp with just a vafc... probably not.... using it to fine tune your fuel maps n vtec crossover and extracting all the power possible off of the boltons... with the aid of the vafc, then you would probably easily be able to see 10-12 hp. adding to the fact that a real tuner is behind the tuning.

yea nos is the shizzle. as much hp as a turbo, way more torque, 1/8th the price, and you can bolt it on in 30 minutes.

NOS "power" is a quick way to destroy a good motor. Unless you have internals that can handle the induction properly. And if you have good internal work, then I see no reason whatsoever to go with nitrous induction. Indeed, Nitrous is the tool of ricers.

Nitrous is very nice. It can bring a smile to anyones face when you use it. On the other hand. Its beautiful to have a All Motor Car putting down 200+ hp to the wheels. Any all Motor Honda putting down 200+ to the wheels is a Monster.

Yea like mine ...........You can get a used VAFC for a $150.00 and then get some tuning to actually utilize those mods...

my goal is 200 whp if that will be somewhat easily attainable. I think right now i plan on bc spec3+ cams with valves and retainers and new clutch with a vafc. Im not sure how close that will get me or if i will need itr/ctr pistons as well. I dont want to mill the head or anything because i would still like it to be fairly relaible, as it will be my daily driver. Any input on reaching the 200 or close to the 200 mark would be appreciated.

so you want to bolt on bc3+ cams without changing your static compression ratio and get over 200. Sounds like it would be pretty hard to me.

Seriously, If your grounds are bad to begin with, I can understand getting more power from new ground wires.. but replacing good OEM ground wires with hyped up colored wires won't do **** IMO.

oem grounds are ok but there not that grate. you can get more power from better grounds look at the hot earth ground kit or the spoon one. there are people on here that have dyno there car with a diy ground kit and have seen gains it does help.

so what else would i have to do to make the 3+ work, besides get new pistons? Im still trying to understand everything as far as cams go.

With a set of aftermarket cams you'll also need an aftermarket valvetrain.

I had already planned on getting valve springs and retainers. That would be all i need to support the cams right? I already have a fpr.
