sell your hatch and buy an integra type r.....slight luxury and alot of room for performance,if your gonna blow 15 g's on an old *** car then sit down and plan everything and make sure you build the hell out of your motor, search option on this website is your friend
no i have an idea of what im gunna do i just want other peoples opinions and this is canadian money the cheapest type r around here is 18000$ with 100 000km and i want to build a car that is all of what i want from scratch not just buy a car that is fast stock

Do this...
Drive it around stock for a while and do some research on hondas and find out what u want too do.because you dont wanna waist 15gs on a car u dont like...</TD></TR></TABLE> I agree with him. drive around and get spanked for a week you will soon figure out what road you want to take.

i would prolly go with the integra idea.. but if you really like the hatch then this is what i would do.. take about $10k of that money.. get an engine, b16/b18, id go with a crvtec or LSvtec, build it up some, cams, port and polish...if you really want to go fast get a turbo, restore the hatch....new suspension bushings and such, get some good suspension, some lightweight wheels and some tires, and a nice lookin body kit. Then with whatever you have left over buy a winter car if you live where it snows cause rust sucks.. oh yea, you would save a ton of $$ if you could do most of this stuff yourself.
The latest EF hatch. How bout a custom turbo B18C, sleeved block / built B16A head? Pin that down with LSD, clutch, and susp. w/ 500+ whp potential for your 15 grand. But decide where u want to go with your money 1st. Daily street, drag, Solo II? Remember its 15g Canadian tho, have fun.

First of all dollar for dollar the EF is and always will be the FWD car all other will be judged by. So dont get an ITR.
since tire are the only thing touching the road get the widest(more important than rim size) tallest wheel you can fit and have the gearing to run. then get the some very wide tires to fit those rims.
Then i would get some decent coilovers, bushing, swaybars. That cover suspesion. Then get a 90-91 EX MC,and 90-93 intgra disc for all four corners, back that up with some ate super racin fluid and pads for you application(your brakes). then get the appropiate safety gear i.e some sort of roll bar or cage, seats and belts.
After all that is taken care of get the biggest highest revving motor you afford at that point. Probably B18C5 with boltons.
Now you have car that nothing on road, road course, autocross can touch overall performance wise. If drag is your thing forget some of the above.

Hey, sounds like you and me are in the same boat. I've got an 89 hatch and I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do. Alot of these guys in these forums know an unbelievable amount of info but sometimes they still can't help with us beginners. So this is what I would do. Figure out how much horsepower you really want. Because you have to consider, serious horsepower means less driveability. So, if this is going to be street driven, you're going to want to find a happy medium. Now, I know for a fact that we have light cars. In addition, I also KNOW that it only takes 215 whp to take our little cars in the 12's. See, my goal is to be able to smoke all these little punks who's parents bought them vettes and sti's. So I'm going to need about 250 whp to do that. So basically no matter what engine I do, I'm more than likely going to have to go turbo. You're also going to need to consider what resources you have to complete these tasks (swap work, tuning, etc...). Like the other guys said, drive your car around stock for awhile and get an idea what you're really wanting out of it. Then decide what will be right for you. Just remember, light weight is your friend, that is one advantage that these cars have that later model civics and integras don't.

I don't agree with allot of people around here... Don't try to drive a race car daily.. you'll just get bad gas milage, more repairs (shorter maintenance interbals), and speeding tickets.. use the money to buy a second car before you tear your daily driver apart.. I also own a jeep.. just big enough to tow the civic w/o haveing to drive a huge SUV or red-neck pickup.

well here the thing i had a s10 i built myself that saw mid 1low 13's i built myself but that's because its is generally cheaper to do up a s10 then a civic but ive alway's loved civics and integras and all my buddy'd do is go around and bad mouth them in there camaro's and mustangs and i hate that cause it takes a hell of alot more brains to work on civics and **** then carbereated v8's and i just got a good job now that im out of highschool so i can take a loan out all they do is lip me off now that i got i civic so i want to do it up with the 15 g's and show them the only place there gunna beat me to is the gas station and i also want to learn about everything i can about honda's sp ya that's my story
hey civics arnt bad u can do alot to them. get a type r or gsr and drop that in there. turbo and internals. also get a cat back for sound and stuff. ya u can do alot with that much money. u can do whatever u want to that car. its all up to what u want to do. good luck. also when ur done post pics or sumthin i am curious of what an old hatch with 15k invested would look like. LATER!

i didnt know it was canadian and i also dont know how much that is in cali so ya well. umm......... i have heard good things about ls/vtec motors. but u got alot of money so umm........... maybe a type r or civic r motor. it doesnt really matter taht much. ls/vtec has more torque. but less power. good luck on whatever u do.

Well, I finally found absolution for my 89 hatchback. I compared different setups and how much modifying it would take with each one to reach the 250 whp I wanting to get my car well into the 12's at least. This is what I came up with. A B18c5 Integra Type R engine swap with a mild CUSTOM turbo setup (6-8 psi). With this you won't be looking at any necessary engine building and only slight modifications. With ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING needed included, it only adds up to right under $9k US. That will get you smokin those mustangs and comaros no problem. Websites like http://www.passwordjdm.com and http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com have great deals.

Sounds like a bad@#$ setup. Although that 14b isn't going to bolt to the revhard manifold without an adapter plate welded on. The revhard manifold uses a t3 flange while the 14b needs a t25 flange.
