Default Alarm Question (car security)

I bought my Hofco I back in 1994. I tarnsferred to my Nissan, then to another Nissan and finally to my 1993 Honda.

All this is is a deterrent, right? I mean, if they really want the car, it's theirs.

But, I am curious. What is it like out on the streets now. Back in the 80's when I was a "racer," everyone had Clifford, Hofco or Chapman.

Are there scanners now to break the codes of these alarmms? Do you all have Lojack? Or, are the WalMart alarms just as good as my Hofco? Just give me an update on the crime scene in the 2000's for this geeser from the 80's.

Thanks!

well the times have defentetly changed, Walmart alarms are simple noise makers. With todays scanners and jammers alarms come with secondary powersource, remote monitors that hang on your keychain and you sorta "see" your car status on the LCD screen, ingintion shut offs, Electricity discharges, LoJack...etc You CAN prevent your car from being stolen for a joy ride but as for professionals yeah... if someone wants your car really bad, it's theirs. Even with Lojack... So just watch out where you park, keep an eye on your car and you'll be allright.
