Default magical oil

i cant tell where my oil is going. i go through about a quart every 1000miles i change it every 3000 (give or take a few hundred). There are no puddles under my car or on the block or drippin onto the exhaust. I cant figure it out and im gettin pretty worried. its got 245000 miles on it.

2 possibilities:
1. it is magic and disappearing like you said (j/k)
2. your engine has super high mileage and now burns oil along with air and fuel, probably because them piston rings have had to go up and down about a trillion times so they aren't retaining oil like they used to. I got the same thing, just give her gas and oil as needed.

Yup, no big deal at that kind of mileage. Just make sure she doesn't get low on fluids.

That same thing was happening to my car. I couldn't figure out where the oil was going. It turned out that the expansion rings on the pistons that scrape the oil off the wall weren't expanding anymore and oil was getting burned.

i dont see why your happy about this. #1, burning oil is never good. espesaly for the enviroment. and #2, a engine rebuld, with labor, costs about $800 bucks.

have you checked ur oil drain plug? maybe it fell out a while ago.

on second thoughts.. i read a book where oil was being teleported hither and yon. guy had a breefcase and oil would magically appear in it. he had a teleporter in his lab that would send the stuff out.. maybe you got something like that? did you buy the motor on ebay.. there was a guy there selling flux-capacitors too..
