hey any on know about b16a1 transmissions? when i drive my car just cruising and i go from first to second it shifts fine but when i race someone and i do the same thing it grinds? Does any one know what the problem might be???

 

Very common with many Jdm b series cable trannies. Your syncro's are wearing out! More than likely you are running a S1 tranny which is the most know for that problem.

 

maybe try to not totally force it into gear while you're racing. especially when your synchros are getting crunchy. which eventually leads to bad bearings everywhere which in turn becomes a fist sized hole in the side of your transmission housing while you are driving. my friend knows this from experience.

 

what are the tranny codes for lsd on b16a1?

 

"Only" 2 cable tranny's ever came with an oem lsd for the Honda B series line up.

1- the Y1 (maybe 1 out of 15 had this option) that came out of the JDM crx sir and civic sir's only in 1990-91

2- the rare JDM 92-93 Integra GSR. (again, only a few of the ys1's had the lsd option) Its the best cable tranny Honda made with most of the same gears as the late model type R gearboxes. Also, parts (ie. synco's) can be purchased over the counter at any Acura dealer, all the othe jdm tranny's, no such luck!
