I need to pass smog with my car so the D16Y7 was swapped back in. Only, I don't have the arm that comes off of the airbox. Will I still be able to pass visual here in Cali without it? I'm having trouble looking for one and I need to smog this car ASAP.

it depends if it's a smog test only station or if it's a regular smog station. also it depends on the smog tech, some don't care some do. best bet is go to a honda junkyard and get one. if you have a air intake system, make sure it's carb legal because if it's not that's a automatic visual failure.

 

See that's the thing...I was gonna play it safe and pick up the arm but the junkyard wouldn't sell just the arm, and they wanted to much for the whole airbox which I won't even use after the smog test. I don't need to go to test only, so hopefully that's a plus. Anyone else?

 

if its the arm that goes into the fender well you shouldnt even worry, as long as the full airbox with arm to TB is still intact.

 

Well the D16B7 has the box directly over the TB and an arm that extends out over behind the headlight. Is this going to work without the arm?

 

as long as you have that box on top you should be ok

 

you know i have the hole set up off my 99 civic but i will have to look its at my shop. look back later and i will post if i still have all the pieces. if i do you can have them you may have to pay some shipping.
