i have the jdm h22 lsd tranny (m2b4). i everytime i put it in fifth gear the tranny grinds and if it does go in it pops back out after a little while at first i thought it was my clutch so i changed that and put on a different tranny and it messed the other tranny up too. i later found out that one on my shift cables snaped but not completely. i took it to one of my friends that knows this guy that know how to fix trannys and he said that the counter shaft bearing was shatter. i tried to buy the part and he said that none of the usdm counter shaft bearing are the same as the jdm. i also had him put in the h23 fifth gear so i can save some gas but some how the tranny tech said that the caseing wont close on both the h22 ( m2b4) and the h23 one. i heard that the f22 bearing can work too but i dont know. i talk to honda and they say they dont know about the jdm trannys and what works with it. i was wondering if any one knew or knows what bearing is the same size and that i can ur in replace of it or if the tranny tech is trying to milk me for some more money. i dont know what to do any more.

Wish I could answer your questions, but if in the process of getting answers you discover you need stuff off of a USDM F23 tranny (Acura CL) I'm willing to pull parts off it (first gear is munched and reverse pops out) so it's of little value to me. I have a h22 JDM tranny with Quaife LSD as well if you just want a new Tranny.

 

Bro, I'm sorry i hate when **** gets fucked up on our babies, but if i were you i wouldn't spend lots of time and money trying to fix that tranny, time is money. i would just invest in a new jdm tranny or even a swap from a used one less time just a lil install work and no worries that the surgery you try and perform on an old tranny will stay intact and work.

 

Well one thing I can tell you for sertain, the M2b4 is kind of like the bastard chile of h22 trannies. The casing is totally different and is the only H-series tranny that doesnt accept the Quaife LSD. Even the Euro-R and F20b trannies are rumored to receive the Quaife LSD, I am sure you can ask SATAN_SRV about this.

 

so pretty much i'm fucked then. so my best bet is to get another tranny or find a place that can get the jdm bearing. man i love my lsd too. hate to lose it but if it cost to much then imma just sell it and get a new one. thank for the info everybody.
