Help me with a D16 mount question please.
I'm swapping in a D16Y7 to my 88 rex and noticed that the EF mount attaches to the D15 in 3 places. The D16 doesn't use that third mount. Is this going to be okay?
Also, the dipstick tube is loose and able to spin. How can I fix that? Or do you have to replace it
Thanks in adavance!!

as far as the mounts...you have to use your original transmission, and take the mount off the timing belt side of you original motor, and attach it to your block....and if you have a DX/STD....you will have to convert to MPFI
Let me re-phrase what I'm asking. Where the D15 timing belt mount mounts to the block, it uses 3 bolts. Two are below the cam gear and another one on the exhaust side of the block, with the bolt facing the rear of the car (so the bolt is perpindicular to the length of the engine.) I want to know if only using the two under the cam gear is okay.
Anybody?
Anybody?
dood i was really high when i wrote that...i am sorry...it is okay to just use the 3 that are attached to the cam gear...i thought you meant that you were omitting some that were attached on the cam gear side...sorry....those 2 will be fine

It will work fine.. Look at my sig.. I've been running this car at the track all the time and dont have a problem yet, and im only using 2 of the bolts on the engine mount..
Thanks tgreaves. That's re-assuring.
Bseries- the dipstick is able to spin around with very little force. I pulled on it a little bit and it didn't seem to come out.
