i keep getting a check engine light for vtec pressure switch. it can't be the switch because vtec engages and its wired up correctly. i tried reseting the ecu. once i put the negative batery wire back on i turn my key to the on position (without starting the car) and the same check engine light comes on. after i start my car i get a code 8 (tdc). when i start up my car while its cold it takes a while to crank up. i believe i have a faulty ecu. is there any way to test this out? steve from hmo said that i could mail it back to him and he would check it out but this car is my daily driver and it would be very hard to go a week or so without a car. any help would be very appreciated.

go to a friends house and take out his ecu and test it before you make a buy
