Hello, i just wonder what were your motives to make your car turbo? Is it becuase you wanted to be faster? Or is it because you wanted to own the street? or maybe gain respect from everyone? or maybe you just wanted that PSHH sound? or maybe just the thought of having a turbo in your car, i dunno...Most people would answer to go FAST! But i think theres more then just that. Some people might go turbo for self accomplishment, Knowing all the hard work and effort they put into it to reach that goal is self pleasing. Not everyone is rich...and most of us on here i think worked hard and long to reach that turbo spooling inside their cars. But yeh...im just curious what motivated yourselves to go turbo...

Because it was slow?

 

Because it's cheaper than an engine swap and more powerful...

and turbo cars are sooo much more fun to drive than NA cars

 

i raced a saturn and lost,so i guess my motivation was my extreme shame,this is the first time i mentioned the event since it happened

 

I used to have a "Turbo" sticker covering my A/C button. So when the A/C was off, I had all this extra power.

Well, that sticker started to peel off, so...

 

hmmmmm..... lets see, I would have to guess to make it faster??

Well when I bought my GSR I thought it was fast. Compared to my LS anyway. So I bought alot of NA parts, including a JUN header, ITR cams....then just a week or so shy of when I planned to install everything it hit me. I have alot of $$$ in all these parts in my closet. Ih they might gain me ....30hp...maybe...and I am already used to my GSR. So a month or two after install I would be used to it again, and still be bored even with all that $$$ in it.

So I decided f*ck it, I'm gonna sell it all. And I did. And started studying (mostly on here) what it take to turbo charge a car....and do it right. Since then I have been deal searching part by part. Getting close now....hope I can get this done soon.

And yeah, I am poor...so the going is slow.

 

I work on turbocharged engines everyday.....I may as well drive one too. Well actually that was a long time ago.

HAHAH i use to have a saturn.. I raced it.. I lost... I got mad.... I sold it... I bought my honda..... Now its boosted so i want lose again... HAHAHA..

 

Because I wanted to do Vipers, Vettes, and 911's ugly, while having something that doesn't get a lot of attention and that I can daily drive all year round

because i got beaten really bad by a turbo crx on my slight modded '80 rx-7 back in '94
this is my third turbo project...

 

So I can give u the "BOV SALUTE" in ure window while driving next to you on the freeway.

 

I like the idea of having a 4-door sleeper...

I don't have BOV or turbo sound. You couldn't tell is was turbo unless you popped the hood.

 

too kill cocky street drivers in Vettes, M3's, etc.

 

I'm really into the tuning side and ECU modification. I wasn't able to play with it much under the old setup. So I turbod it, makes it more of a challange, and leaves me with more bells and whistles to play with Not to mention it is nice to go when you want to.

 

i like not having to worrie about loosing to any thing in my town and it is sweet when you start racing bikes because cars dont want any

Beating a fully modded V8 and watch they're Jaws drop as I pull on them like a rocket.

Thats pretty much it.

 

Because Turbo + VTEC = a smile on my face.

That was basically my reason at first. Now its just im so deep into it it feels like if i dont finish my project im a failure.
