Cooling Fan Issue
ok, my cooling fan has stopped working. no, its not the AC fan. i have gone through the diagnostic in the manual and it leads me to "a broken wire" meaning, im guessing either the power or the ground has been cut or burned through, etc, but one of those wires is no longer connected at some point in the harness. the fan works when i hook it up to the batery, as does the relay, so i know those arent the issues. im guessing it could be the sensor, but i dont want to buy a new sensor if i dont have to. i may try to run a wire from the ecu directly to the power wire of the sensor and then run another wire from the sensor to the relay, and a wire from the realy to the power of the fan, and then ground the fan to the frame. this would essentially go around the broken wire wherever it is. any other creative ideas? does anyone have a sensor they are selling?
on a side note, it worked fine for a long time after my swap, so i know its not that. i switched the wire and pin already when i first swapped the motor.

theres gotta be some ideas out there. everyone answers these stupid questions about will my f22 tranny fit on a h22? or what size are these rims? this is supposed to be a tech forum!!!
If neither fan comes on when car reaches operating temperature and they both turn on when the AC is on, then thermoswitch A (on the upper radiator hose connection to engine) is not closing. Try inserting a wire short across the connector to the switch and see if your fans come on immediately when keyswitch is turned ON. If yes, then a new switch is needed.
good luck
good luck
see, now thats an example of great advice, and more is needed like that in this forum. thanks for the idea, ill give it a shot before i try the rewiring.
