Default JDM Crx Gurus. Enter. (Actualy RHD Cars)

SKIP PAST THE BOLD IF YOUR IN A HURRY

I dont know if you guys really know or care, but I finished high school last semester but had plans to go back and take the new engine rebuilding course and get a little expierence and I was to scared of the real world

Well yesterday at my work where I was for the summer, I was training someone to take over on Monday and the training usually takes a week. Long story short they found this guy KNEW NOTHING and lied about previous work, straight up walked right up to me and said, "Were prepared to give you $14/hour to work these 2 lathes full time" ******* sweet, **** school, Im getting paid

So thats why Im here

Ive saved almost $4000 this summer and was planning on doing a complete overhaul on my rusty riced out Crx. Would include lots of body work and a built A6 (already have) and a nice turbo setup @12-14 psi and a shot of nitrous.

But Im thinking, if Im gonna have all this cash coming in, I bet I could afford a RHD CRX

So I need some info on what models you can buy from Japan. Like is it HF/DX/Si/SiR? How does it work? What do they come with? (motors)

All I really care about is the RHD, power windows. JDM front and glasstop and oem b16 probably isnt for me but wouldnt mind it.

Keep in mind Im 18 so insurance is already a disgusting pig @ $305/month, would it go up a lot just for the fact that it is RHD?

- Do all models have power windows

- Only the SiR has the nice front right

- Whats the weight on them?

- Leather seating?

Is there anything that would be a PITA to do over here? Like alignments or do you have to buy special parts for something or is it basically just the same car but RHD?

Im really set of just buying a RHD just for the RHD so I would keep the car forever, and not feel weird about owning my favourite older car. BECAUSE ITS RHD!!!!!

Any info greatly appreciated, or help on where to locate one. I know Id have to fly

BTW - Im in Canada so its legal or some **** here

then get a 89 1.5x or Si which has a ZC in it...

they will both have the "JDM or "SiR" front end and you can find them glasstop on both models, with all the bells and whistles...

shipping will be rather expensive and probably around 2000 though...

That car looks pretty hacked, check the wiring, tint, not so great interior and its an SiR, wont be able to afford insurance

Does anyone know if the car just being RHD would throw insurance up?

im not trying to be a dick or anything but, if the wiring is a little "hacked" in your opinion who ****** cares?!?!?! the only messy wiring i see is the ones under the stereo...these cares are RARE as **** and anyone and their mother that has a CRX would trade their own or do almost anything to own an AUTHENTIC rhd SiR from japan...u would have to be a fool to pass it up...i mean what car do u know thats 13 or so years old doesnt need any touch up work i mean c'mon...dont trip on a little dirt or stupid **** like that cuz your probably gonna clean that **** up anyway right? and its like under 3 grand already too...man if you have the oppurtunity to get that ride go for it and dont bitch about how it looks cuz it looks clean as hell to me

Ya its not even that it looks a "little hacked", its that thats the only pic of buddies interior and I can already see sloppy work

Do you see a motor pic? I dont. Probably dirty as **** and possibly more slop

See the exterior of the car? If your selling such a "priceless gem" as you call it, wouldnt you atleast hose off the car? Instead of just pulling over to the side of the road and snapping 3 quick pics

I dont care about that car because Im not even starting to look yet.

But I need help on what type of models they have and what they come with as far as front ends/ motor/ roof/ interior fun stuff.

Ever heard of the sayin "ones mans trash is another mans treasure"...this guy probably doesnt have the same amount of appreciation of the car as somone like me or u would. the only "hacking" i could see is under the stereo and that aiint ****. in case u havent realized, these cars are 14 years old now and in some cases u are gonna have to sort of rebuild these cars a little bit. any incase u havent also realizes it was your idea to post this ****** thread and im just tryin to help u out pimp

BOTTOM LINE: i happen to think the car is clean as hell IMO and its like under 3 grand so far in the bidding too...! if u dont want the b16 u can put that "A6" **** in it if u want too i dont care playa its your car... if u can afford it or have means of getting it buy if if not then **** it

Well if one things done poorly that well in the open and even worth taking pictures of, Im sure there are plenty of hidden little gramlins, oh well I dont care, I cant afford the SiR anyways

And BTW- Id take my freshly fully built A6 on a 100 shot over that tired and beaten B16 any day

Anyways- can I get some real info on these cars and what they come with.

I still don't see people's fascination with right hand drive. My good friend has a RHD SiR and it's more of a pain in the *** then a luxury, lemme tell ya.

Have fun making left hand turns when you're yielding to oncoming traffic and can't see ****, lol..

If I cant see anything beause someone on the other side is making a left as well, Ill just stop until it turns yellow

My fascination with RHD is because is unique for one, and if Im gonna have a 15 year old car working full time making good money I want something to be special about it so I keep it.

Bump for more info

gator, find me a job over there and when I come over to live and work, I'll bring you your car

Ive driven LHD and RHD over in the UK. Driving LHD isnt a problem, comes naturally after a few days.
