Default 9000+ rpm ;)

HELLO GUYS!!
Only some paperwork left and a brand new 04 s2k is mine .
So, i need your advice people. What's the best way to treat this "piece of art" vtec engine until i can put the pedal to the metal and change gears only at 9000+ rpms . I heard that those first Kms are important and a good engine use may give you some ps more in the future as a bonus.

only in N. America

and seeing as he is speaking in "kms" instead of miles, and "ps" instead of HP, i'm assuming he doesnt live here.

Stay out of vtec. No full throttle for 1000kms. Premium gas (of course.) Shift slowly and deliberately, don't slip the clutch.

Also don't hammer the brakes for the first couple of hundred kms or even the suspension.

In other words, don't have any fun and pretend its made of glass.

Once that's over with, have at 'er!!!

Take everybody's advice and go easy. Enjoy the car. You don't want to start off bad.

congratulations on the purchase! Drive the car smoothly and easily. Two very subjective words but basically put it through many heat cycles, don't drive at steady speeds/rpms. Gently get into after the break in period, just b/c the break in period is over, doesn't mean you can hammer it.

as it was said, bootleg, he is NOT IN THE US, thus his goes to 9000.

Europe still has the 2.0L engine, the US has the 2.2. I believe Greece does, as well.
