Default F22A into 89 CRX

I am about to swap my 92 Prelude F22A with the H22a engine. What I was wondering is that can that F22A engine fit into the CRX? Im sure it could be done but im not exactly a master mechanic... The CRX is an 89 DX i think..not an Si. Just let me know if you guys think it's worth the work..

If you aren't a master mechanic then don't try it.
It's not a bolt in and go swap. It will require lots of fab work and custom stuff.

Its been done but I wouldnt consider it the greatest idea.
I dont know what all is involved with the swap but I assume its close along the lines of the H22/H23 swaps.

Yea it's just a shame tho..I have a perfectly fine F22A engine and a CRX that is in need of a new engine badly.. Should sell the 2 together and let someone else bother with it, but it would be pretty cool to accomplish

Look into Bisi's set-up
He's running the F series mated to a d series trans with an adapter kit
It's not gonna be low budget though

It is not worth the work just for a 130hp engine.

If the F/H swap was much easier, it might have been worth it.

true.. but the engine does have a few mods, prolly squeezes out 150 hp. And I do have the engine just sittin there.. The stock base CRX engine was what like 90 HP? i figure the 150 would make that thing a rocket, but it seems to be too much of a hassle.. maybe if it were more compatibe, oh well

is the f22 a 5spd?

If so i would buy the tranny.. and if you have a good price on the motor/tranny itself then i would be interested...

with the F22 it wont be a rocket......unless you have an F22 jet engine.

The F22 doesn't have the highest power output out there. But with 2.2 liters, it does have alot of torque. That makes it somewhat tempting. If you could get ahold of one of those B-series transmission adaptor plates (which, according to the thread here, are available for $415), you might be able to make this swap work. Also keep in mind that you will need a B-series mount kit, transmission, axles, etc. in additon to this adaptor plate kit and the motor.

basically the same as an crx h22 swap. I wouldn't think it's worth it. I would sell the f22 and buy a d16.
