Default Need help from ITR owners (Mechanics)!!

Im currently in Iraq and someone is watching over my ITR. Im told that when the car comes to a stop it automaticaly idles low and then cuts off everytime. Sometimes it idles low when it is running stationary then shuts off. Ive replaced cap & rotor, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. I cant think of what it might be but if you can help with some advice I would appreciate it. Thanks

sounds like it might be ignition... check plugs, wires, distributor cap & rotor, etc.

for defending our country, hope you return home safely (and soon...)

The idle air valve on the back of the intake is full of crap.. Replace it of clean it.
And on a personal note: thank you, and watch your butt over there...

For the most part but not every time we have had an idle problem it was related to the Idle Air Control... Usually it has picked up oil from the crank case near the Throttle body an is gummed up or there is crap on the seat which will not allow it to get a good seal .. hence- you have a vacuum leak and a hunting idle.. Buy a new gasket and pull it off spray the heck out of it with carb clean and shake repeat a few times and you will be amused by what comes out.. P.S. they are not cheep and a type R has one un like any other.. Go figure..
