buddy of mine drives a 93 honda accord lx coupe, 5spd. (f22a1)

he started having problems with a few weeks ago. First thing he had was when he'd be on the freeway it would jump out of fifth gear on him. Lately hes been having problems getting it to start, and sometimes when he switches gears the car stalls out on him. Now dont flame me with "he just doesnt know how to drive" trust me, its not something hes doing. he also said the car is making some funny noises, but i havent heard em yet.

help me out.

 

I would guess that the tranny may be coming apart. poping out of 5th gear is a sing of worn syncros and/or shift fork.
