Im surprised that they put the estimated price at 18-20k when our msrp is already 19 something. It would only take the slightest amount of common sense to realize that the type r would cost at least what the rsx s costs. bah anwyay im happy with my ep

Beginning to suck? I would say continuting to suck...as they have for the last 4 or 5 years now except for the S2k....and not counting the NSX.

well yeah, the S2K's engine is probably one of the best engines around (120HP per liter), but the DC5R's engine is not far behind (110 per liter). In America, we keep getting the shaft, but that doesn't mean Honda sucks.

Honda's too involved with keeping the environment clean. It is very unlikely they will use turbocharged vehicles again.

they experimented with turbocharging a long time ago. I don't think any of the cars were sold in the US though.

ROTFLMAO. SRT-4? Sorry clown. As for the EVO, please go and cry to Mitsu about it being $13,000 more than an Si and see if they give you any sympathy.

Honda's way of thinking SUCKS!!!
I sell hondas here and i've talked to my rep. She says the civic type-r will never come over because it will compete too much with the RSXs. Bunch of BULL if you ask me. Y so everyone else can buy other cars for the smae price or close to.
(i.e. Neon SRT-4, Nissan Sentra V Spec, Focus(???)) Look at how they tired to market the Element. What a waste!!! Gen-X my ****. more like retirees. I think Honda thought that the EP3s would be "enough" as far as performance goes, and at the same time "earth friendly"??? Try selling some one a EP3 who's also a SRT-4, Sentra-Vspec, RSX, etc... 19K is alot of money, but for 5K more, y not get a RSX-S. Just my .02

... go here. i'm about to blow. http://www.world.honda.com

they are constantly trying to advance. imagine honda 30 years ago, to now. honda's been monopilizing the automobile industry, even with our daily house equipment. you're completely being biased. honda is international, you're seeing and noticing things here. the government controls so much of the import. like any other manufacturer they will have trials and tribulations.

i completely agree with Kal. they have been so hung up on economy and environment the past 3 years and even lately.

I think one of the biggest hurdles to a Type R in the US is insurance companies.

Any way you look at it, the insurance companies took the shaft big time on the ITRs due to theft and the high cost of replacement parts for those that are even recovered. Car companies NEVER import anything without the informal "blessing" of insurers. Otherwise, the car would be too expensive due to insurance costs for the buyer.

If I ran an insurance company, I would NEVER EVER dream of insuring a Type R and I think the insurers have finally caught on, too.

you will never see a type R in the states unless someone imports it or just makes it look like one.

I think thats why that made the 99-00 Si's coupes rather then the HB's. It would have been faster then a GSR. Now the Si's weigh 2700lbs and only have 160HP.

What happened to the good ol days of light weight nimble Civic?

It seems like honda is going in reverse. Everybody else is making their cars faster and more affordable while honda is making their cars slower, and the fast ones are way too expensive. Take for instance the way that the speed has decreased from the 95 EX civic to the 96 EX and on to the 2000 EX. It is to the point where a 95 EX is probably almost if not faster than a 02 SI.
