Thinking about a couple small fab project.....bracket to take the trans place and cradle
Im about to put the car down for a couple of weeks to rebuild the trans and also do a couple of other things. I dont really have a corner of the shop to tuck it in so the car will need to be moved around when needed. I was thinking about making a brace that goes in place of the trans that will bolt to the block and then over to the trans mount.
Hopefully If I have some time I will get one made up. I was just thinking about making it from some angle iron and triangulating it for strength to hold the engine up. I will post some pics for you guys when im making it and the final product.
Also thinking about an engine cradle for the B series engines. Those V8 guys have them....we should too!! It'll make clutch jobs 10x easier when the engine/trans is out of the car, or when a swap is about to go in. Seems its always a pita to crack the trans loose fromt he engine hoist to put a clutch in w/o first putting it on the floor then proceding with the clutch swap......well you guys get the picture.
Would anyone be interested in purchasing one?? Maybe I will make a couple extra when I fab mine up.

I use a 2x4 and place it from the rad support to the ledge infront of the windshield and then drill a hole in the middle of the 2x4, stick a long bolt through the hole, that has a washer welded on the end of it and I stick a bolt through the washer into where the trans mounts to the engine. So it holds the motor up while the trans is out.
Thats just too simple
I want it to be a project for the new welder I just bought
