Default AEM alternator pulley equipped 99 Si -- just got back from Autozone

I just went to Autozone to have them check out my alternator. I had an 11 month old Optima Yellow Top die on me w/o warning last week.........

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=965821

So I wanted to find the root cause of all this, hence the trip to Autozone. When they tested my alternator (w/ engine running), it resulted in 32amps. However, the factory alternator output is 70amps!

I must mention that I am currently running an AEM alternator pulley on the car. Could this possibly be the reason for the measly reading of 32amps?

Has anyone tested their OEM alternator with the AEM alternator pulley on it? What output did you receive?

Underdrive pulley? If it's the same size as the stock one I don't see how the pulley could be causing your alternator to have low output. Maybe your alternator is going to ****? Just an idea.

It's larger and lighter. Not sure if the Si and EX kits are the same, but my EX AEM alternator pulley is 1.1" larger and 3.5oz lighter than the stock pulley.
