Default Dh-racing?? Crate motors??

I was thinking of building my own lsvtec but dh-racing offers a pretty nice set-up for 6500. http://www.dh-racing.com and click on race motors...Naturally Aspirated Race LS/Vtec

WE OFFER PAYMENT PLANS ON ALL HEAD PACKAGES AND MOTORS

We have put the same amount of time into this setup as our full blown 9sec motor. You will have the confidence to "drive" your car and not have to worry about engine problems, these motors are strong and meant to be driven...

Motor comes bored, honed, hot tanked, decked and fully blueprinted. Oversized Integra Type R Design Pistons, Stock Rods. Ported Head with 3 angle Valve job.

Full Swap is available for $6500 coming with ported intake manifold, 70MM bore throttle body, mounts, tranny, ECU, lightened flywheel, 6 puck clutch, and a Dh-Racing Power Pulley that provides dyno proven 10%WHP alone....

Sounds like it might be nice i guess they are awesome and build the 9 second civic...i mean its alot of money but to do all that myself would probably come a little more expensive so hmmm...if u look at the b16 about its the same set-up and runs app 12.5 with proper tuning so i wonder what this would do in my rex...i eman i just read a thread full interior integra with ls vtec stock running 13.65..wonder what my rex would do

Do Not Buy From That Site. To much negative response on a thread i started about that 12.5 second all motor race motor from dave hickmans site. Sounds like he rips people off for their money and gives that stuff that they didn't ask for. check it out for yourself. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=954009

well you arent dave right? I mean i keep adding it all up myself and im like **** i cant beat the price. I only live 2 hours away and im ex infantry so let dave screw me and im not affraid to do some damage i would definatly make sure he has some kind of agreement or i wouldnt get it like some kind of warranty. I mean every motor has its problems look at new cars some new cars come off the lot and break down around the corner BUT as long as this cocksmoker has some kind of agreement its all good...

He stands by his work. I had him do a motor swap for me back in like 98. The motor was bad not his fault it was a stock jdm motor. He swapped in a replacement motor for free. I cant see another shop doing that.

God Damn,so he does 25 heads a month, lets see,30 days in a month,4wknds=8 days.So he does 25 heads in 22 days.More then 1 a day.I must be doing something wrong, for some reason it takes me ALOT longer to do a head.

Even so it still takes me ALOT longer then a day to port a customers head. But one day, hopefully,I'll be as efficent as Dave and be able to spit out more then a head a day.

DO NOT BUY FROM DAVE HICKMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you might ask why do i say this. because i have been waiting for over 3 months on my camshaft, because my good friend has spent over $10,000 and it took over a year for him to get his motor back. they give you the run around bigtime. they make power claims that are bullshit. so if you want to send your money to dave and have your car on jackstands the entire racing season then go ahead, he will not treat you any differently than previous customers. check out his feedback on ebay, search around this site, call daves cell phone(702)362-8832 or (661)547-1508...he wont answer. if you ever do get him on the phone he will try to sell you additional parts you dont need and try to talk about the latest 240whp H22 with only a ported head. i am a legit guy and i am giving you my honest testimony, i am not talking ****. i have a DH head on my car and i also have a stock cam because those bitches wont come thru with mine. i am now at the point of calling WEB because that's who does their cams. $6500 is a shitload of money to send to ******** RACING and expect to wait a long *** time to get your **** to DH racing

2 weeks is the soonest Ive ever seen a quality head get done...

Heres something to think about...

SS Autochrome sells more turbo manifolds than anyone I can think of...

You dont sell that many turbo manifolds with out doing something right... right?

Nothing against Dave... Ive talked to him a few times, hes a very knowledgable guy... I dont think its him personally thats brought on this negative loom associated with his name... I think it has more to do with his "cheer leaders"

Put down the pom poms and let Daves work speak for itself... Im sure there are some non associated/affilated customers out there with success stories to share with the rest of us...

wow his stuff sounds great to me. see im in a rut right now. i have a RS wit a broken motor that just went on me and i have school starting in Nov and its a hour drive each way to school, and its 82 miles each way from my house. now i have to pay about 1200 more for this car to be paid off and i dont have the money nor the resourses to do a full rebuild by nov. so i can go to school. this Dave guy sounds great b/c i could fianacnce the motor and hopfully get it swapped in by the time school starts. now realiabity cant be in question b/c of the drive and the fact that attendance in this school is a must. so i dont know but im really thinking about this.

Thank you, someone else feels the same. For once I'd like to see someone other then alld16 or a trial user talk about his work.Dave probably does good work, but the fact that EVERY time someone asks to see a car run for proof they don't show.Remember the tread before they were all talking **** about how they had a super fast car,but whenever it came time to show up for a race that OTHER people would be at,they were too busy or had car troubles. But then again if Dave's doing 25 heads a month he must be too busy to show huh???All we ever see are claims and dyno graphs, how bout some et's w/known witnesses.

Damn you guys scare the **** out of me! Im really re thinking alot i know the owner of D2motorsports down here so i might talk to him he deals with JDM directly and has jdm in stock so maybe i'll keep the ls running perfect get my smog sticker and buy a jdm b16 head and intake manifold from him and have his honda tech put it in i mean they only charge me like 150 bucks to do the whole ls vtec minus parts so might as well...i think i might buy another ls block and buy some internals and have the motor put together so i can still have a car im too busy to build the damn thing now!!...thanks for the ebay link that was kick ***....
