pipe/plumbing section of a hardware store (home depot might have some). if your unsure just ask for a 1/8" pipe plug with a hex head.

try to find a steel plug instead of aluminium or brass....the steel one is much stronger and wont strip when trying to thread it into the hole.

i found one that was a tad bit larger and its not NPT its like M10 with a 1.0 thread pitch, but i dont have a tap that size,

is it necessary to thread the hole first or can i just start cranking it into the head and cut the threads itself???

no you have to tap the hole first......it wont thread in.......and make sure you seal the threads properly or it may leak.....

If you have any extra or fucked up vtec head there are plugs in the head you can use. Theres one between the #2 and #3 intake ports, and another directly under the distributor. You have to open up the oil galley a little to make them fit.
