Help with ZC Parts Info
Hi!
I've got a '91 CRX SI with an oil consumption problem that I've decided to stop by way of a ZC swap. I've been to most of the usual ZC swap websites and everything looks pretty simple, but there's some parts and info that I haven't been able to find. If anyone help fill in the blanks it would be greatly appreciated!
1) What do you torque the head to, and are there any specific precautions in doing so? (I'm sure there's a pattern to follow)
2) rear main seal -- 88-91 CRX or 88-89 Integra or something else?
3) heater hose, upper and lower radiator hoses? (same as #2)
4) Any other key torque specs to be aware of?
I started making a list of parts as described by the ZC swap websites, and most of the parts fall between 88-91 CRX and 88-89 Integra's (with the exception of the timing belt -- 88 Prelude). Are there any references, like a Helm's manual, for the ZC motor itself? How do you know which parts to use before you plunk down the money and buy them?
Thanks in advance for any info!!

I'm not sure of the proper torque specs. As for the radiator hoses I used an 89 integra upper hose and the CRX lower hose. The ZC block is basically the same as a D16. As for most aftermarket parts like a header and such, you can use a CRX Si header. As the ZC web sites say, it has to be port matched. The ZC head exhaust ports are about 3mm higher than the CRX Si.
I've got a DC Header already, and I plan to port it to the proper exhaust gasket as suggested by so many sites. It also already has a hi-flow cat and 2.25 exhaust, so I think I should be ok "on the way out".
As far as the rest of it, I'm going to be pleased as punch if it just runs. Right now it's my daily driver, but I definately see this car as a keeper -- I've had more fun with it and learned more about motorsports just with the bolt-ons that I've bought and researched, I just can't imagine giving it up. It looks like I'm going to have to drive it through this winter, but within the next year I'll be getting another car and saving this one for more fair weather driving. Once I have another daily driver I may look into porting and polishing and other engine mods since I won't require it running the next day to go to work.
Maybe I'll get that Integra that I've always wanted....
I think you're idea is a great one though... maybe I should look more into it since it'll probably still be a couple weeks before we install the engine. Easier to do it while the engine's out, right? Any idea how much something like that would cost?
