Default 3 inch exhaust piping

Im getting a good deal on some 3 inch piping BUT i know 2.5 is the way to go. Any ill effect of going 3 on a stock R? I will probably use stock muffler, some 2.5 inch header and either testpipe or carsound. Any input appreciated

You will lose low end power and your car will sound terrible.

If you use a 22" or larger resonator, your car won't sound too bad, but the bottleneck that will be created at your stock muffler will counteract any benefit that you could possbily gain from the 3" exhaust. 3" is too big for a basically stock R, and yes you will lose low end torque.

3inch is way too large for a NA Type R, you will lose low end torque
