I got pulled over couple weeks ago for having expired tag and got a warning, well looks like I forgot to renew it.
So I got pulled over by this cop for same thing. Only this time I get very surprised.
My car has no Type R decals on it..
Cop = ::Looking at my dash:: "Hey, this is a Type R, low millage too"
Me = ::Very stunned that he even knew what a Type R was:: "yeah it is, You know about Type R's??
Cop = "Yeah, I used to have one. Man, I would let you go without a ticket but the dispatcher already knows I pulled you over for the expired tag."
Me = "aww damn, its ok I understand"
So i give him all my info and he goes to write the ticket. I get out of the car and sign the ticket when he comes back. We shoot the **** for a good while about Type R's.
I asked him if he remembered the badge number of the R but he said he forgot it. He got rid of it like 3 years ago because he wanted a truck to tow his crotch rocket.
I told him I just recently went down to Tampa and picked up a used Mugen exhaust (Thanks to Kenji
) to go with my Mugen header that has been sitting in my room for like 2-3 years now.(All these Mugen parts still sitting in my room
gotta get a high flow cat soon) He said he would have liked to get Mugen parts and a JDM front-end but just too expensive for him at the time. I also talked to him about how the Type R's are getting stolen left and right now-a-days, he didnt like hearing about that at all.
He had a 98 CW Type R with AEM intake, DC Sports header, and a greedy exhaust. He said he never knew about Honda-tech but maybe the owner of his R is on Honda-tech now
It sucks that I have this ticket but man it was great getting pulled over by a very cool ex-Type R owner Cop

lol, nah I pretty much knew what he was pulling me over for, I was speeding a lil about 10 mph over limit. My drive home from work is pretty much traffic-less. I am a rear view checking ****, when I see headlights coming up fast and I cant really see what kinda car it is coming I get that e-brake working to slow me down to speed limit
before a cop can get close enough to track my speed, saved me lots of times.
If he caught me speeding Im pretty sure he woulda let me off from that though

Unfortunately i have delt with the police a lot this year and i have observed the following:
PSP = Pennsylvania State Police are good guys more times then none
VA SP = Virginia State Police are **** communist pigs
I am not a big fan of police, as most aren't, but there are good cops out there. They aren't all ******

One time I was chilling in a parking lot with my friends and a cop pulled up to see what we were doing and he saw my car and asked if it was a real Type R and then when I answered he said "wow those R rare" ahhah

In BC expired tags = $650
ask me how I know

That sucks big time. In the states, it's usually just a 'fix-it' ticket - pay your reg and show them you did (unless it's a year out of date or something), and get it signed off by the marshall's or popo or whatever. Then go show the court and no fine.

Damn I wish my experiences with the police were like yours. I used to get pulled over left and right when I used to have a green gsr. So when I started thinking about getting a PY ITR, people advised me not to considering my track record. But the wierd thing is that I have not been pulled over once ever since I got my ITR. *knock on wood*
If he knew your car was an R right off the bat, why did he tell the dispatcher about it? Anyways, great story and evidence that not all cops suck.
