Default CUSTOM DUAL Turbo System.......LOOK

Ok well I thought about something, i cant post this in the Turbo forum so ill put it here...

Here is my idea i had of a Dual turbo system....

Basically it is the same idea as a single turbo, with the addition of another turbo about 3 ft after the downpipe. The turbo will sit under the car on the exhaust system and with the left over exhaust pressure from the first turbo it will spool the second turbo up. The pipe from the second one will go back to the intercooler and meet with the 1st turbos pressure. To get air into the second turbo a custom MR2 Style vent will be installed on the rear quarter panel of a vehicle, such as a Honda, and there will be a filter located in this vent, and a tube to the turbo that is under the car. At about 8000 RPM's or more since the motor will be needing EXTREME internal mods, the motor can be reved higher, put out more exhaust pressure and hopefully spool both turbos and create a large amount of HP.

Now will this idea work? So far i cant see why not.....let me have your seggestions/comments

later

having a 2nd turbo on your exhaust wont do anything but stop performance...

hmm...why dont u just do a superchrager at 7psi and a turbo at 7psi. the turbo lag should be eliminated by the supercharger

This has been accomplished already. a long time ago. Mejuiars Teg was Supercharged and Turbo'd. lol i wonder what kind of EMS they were using. this was in super street about 2-3 years ago. i think i might have the issue still lying around

why dont you just do a twin turbo set up like abaz? he had his CRX (dohc) twin turbo'd. but he did say he would never do it again (pain in the ***)

I've experienced the Meguairs Teg... it's not all that spectacular... and it took them awhile before they got it all to work properly. For that type of cash I'd go turbo and just spray a little shot over it.....

What's the point of having two? Is this like that bling bling supra with the tri-turbos?

this idea is stupid

Any wonder why this guy can't post this in the FI forum. lol. if you add the ebay special electric fan supercharger, i'm sure you will get enough pressure to feed two or even THREE turbos!

Anything will work, it's just how much time are you willing to spend trying to figure all the logistics out and how much money are you willing to blow on a project like that..............personally I know the turbo would be too far away from the motor itself and the turbo lag would suck, would be like a boost spike when you finally feel it. The oil feed and return line would be a nightmare too. This sounds like another rookie tryin to reinvent the wheel..................PEACE

If you do that you will not add the pressures together. The pressure from the "upstream" turbo (the higher pressure) will bleed through the "downstream" turbo and you will get only the pressure from the downstream turbo. And this is before the intercooler which will cause another pressure drop.

If you want dual turbos you need to feed the pressure from the downstream turbo into the intake of the upstream turbo. You will probably have to play with the size of both turbos to get the configuration to work well. And you are going to have to run the thing at really high RPM's, I would imagine, to have enough exhaust gas energy to see benefits from both blowers.

Good luck.... Let us know how it works out if you give it a try.

Or if you want twin turbo you can just buy ABAZ setup.

What it is, is there are 2 turbos a smaller one and then a larger one. The small one gets boost fast and gives you the power in the lower RPMs and then the extra air it has goes to spooling the larger turbo which will take over when it hits full boost.
