Well, what we all thought was the inevitable ending, has infact occured, my car was recovered in SF today, just got the call. she's been raped thouroughly...here's whats missing (5 points if you guess them all correctly)

engine
transmission
radio
battery
fender
bumpers
wheels+tires
liscence plates (thats what threw me)


they always say look for teh silver lining...well, apparently they have somebody in custody. thats good...i hope he gets raped repeatedly in prison...

oh well, for some reason i was holding on to hope...

i guess i should change the signature...

Surprised they didn't take the 5 lug. Do you have any info on how they caught the guy?

i wouldnt really have expected much else though. only take a few hours if that to strip the car down to nothing. worst part is its probably someone you know.

The unfortunate truth to this story is, even if the guy admits to it, his sentence will be minimal. Let's just hope that he get's tried as an adult. On the other side, if he's a minor, you can sue his parents for damages. But again, if he's an adult after he's been sentenced you can take him to court again for damages so when he gets out and gets a job, his wages will be garnished until your paid in full.

Hopefully the private investigators put the ******* heat on him and he squeales on his friends. You got your car back...that's one step. Let's be optimistic for the next.

sue the guy, and make him pay to fix the car. if he won't pay, you could get a lawyer and put a lien on everything he owns. (house,cars,etc.) but you need to contact a lawyer and sue the guy.

Forget going threw all the lawyer fees, court fees, numorus court dates, hearing, and what not. Just let the insurance carrier do thier job. Americans abuse the right to prosicute.

 

I'm very glad someone was caught. In my case, since someone was caught, someone was liable, and I assume had to pay the insurance every penny because my rates did not go up, nor did I have to pay a deductable.

I have to agree. I don't like theft anymore than the next guy, especially having been a victim of it twice myself, but suing someone is not the answer in my opinion.

 

any updates???? a lot of people got their cars stolen this year. i really hope this wont happen to future cars. I looked at your first tread and if you say it cant be so random passbyer it might be somebody you know or they know you. did u get full coverage on the car? i hope the insurance company will give you most of the car's vaule back but it might take time. It might be a bad time asking this but Will you rebuilt the car?

 

Sorry the caR was raped but at least somebody else will be getting raped in return . Were the seats not taken?.....I didnt see that listed!

 

Maybe they caught the guy dismantling the car?
