quick question for people smarter then me

if my clutch goes out, what parts need to be replaced. this shop wants me to replace lots of stuff but somebody told me i only have to replace the bearing release and the disk.

A flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disc, release bearing, and a pilot bearing are the parts involved. It really depends what died.
