ok i have a 99-00 si guage cluster i got it as a gift its in my96 ek and works perfect but when im low on gas the little gas tank light doesnt come on and yes i have tried more than one and they all worked fine is this something that has to be wired or is it just my car or like 5 bad clusters o yeah and my stock one didnt even have the light its a cx and how can you wire it if thats the problem please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I'm not even sure that the DX's came wired with dummy lights....Just reset your trip odometer. Or watch the gauge, and when it gets low, put more gas in Nice run-on sentence

 

well i dont run out of gas but its just cool to have some thing telling you hey your running low

Mine doesnt come on in my 99 EX either.

i have a 00 dx with an si cluster, mine worked for a while, but just stopped one day when i ran out of gas

 

and no body knows how to fix it

 

try a new bulb

 

try not letting it go that low??
A gas light is pretty stupid, if you ask me

 

97 civic ex here with stock cluster, i have NEVER seen the low fuel light come on and i have run it very low on occasions. I also find that the guage is rather inaccurate. It will fall fast after the halfway mark and then come back up a little. But thats a different story.

 

I have a 98 DX with a Si cluster and my light works just fine

 

I have 96 EX, & my light works fine. I'm planning on swapping in Si cluster this weekend. I usually drive until light comes on, so I'll let you know what my experience is. As far as I can tell, there's usually about 2 gallons left in tank when light comes on.

my 1999 si has a fuel light when it's low, works fine. works even with the ghey reverse glow cluster that came with it

 

i got a 00 si. used to have the si cluster. it worked when i first got it. then stopped working. the got the jdm ctr cluster. still doesnt work. could it be a fuse???

 

Sadly, I see my light come on ALL the time.

 

i got a 99 dx hatch w/ a ctr cluster and my petrol light works fine.

 

hey when u guys installed the 99-00 si cluster or the CTR cluster..

what kinda wiring changes did u guys have to make or was it just plug and play ?? hmmm thankss

 

I have the same problem, but its no biggie.

 

ive got a 97 civic hx w/ a 99 si cluster in it. ive had it in there for about 3 yrs now and have run my fuel down alot of times causing the light to come on. i have never had a problem with it ever. the 99-00 si cluster should be plug and play, no need for any wiring to be done. something must be up with your car. you said you have an CX EK? coupes didnt come in cx trim, dx, lx, ex, hx only i believe....

 

did you check the bulb..may sound stupid but it could your problem

or hook up a battery to the light and see if its working

 

o well i guess its just cause i have a cx cause i know the bulb works but o well no big deal just when you do so much to your car then you just start trying to find things to do like this weekend im putting map lights from a prelude sh in my 96 hatch thanks everyone for answers

 

From what I was told the cx does not have the sender for the low fuel light. The guy I bought my 99ex cluster from told me this. I put it into a 98 dx hatch and the low fuel light works fine for me. The guy I bought it from had it in his 96 cx and the light didn't work for him.
