getting rid of harnesses
i'm in the middle of gutting out my 90 crx Si and making it a race car. so far i've gatten rid of the heater,ac,the rear wiper, and the brake light in the hatch. i was wondering what to do about the harnesses or wires left over. do i just cut them or follow the wire to where ever it starts out. also what the easiest way to get rid of the sond deadner tar? thanks for the help

The driver!
Mix the dry ice with some commercial (you can buy in gallons and stuff) rubbing alcohol. The alcohol won't freeze, but will get just as cold as the dry ice. Stir that stuff up into a slurry and carefully (don't splash that stuff on you) pour it onto the sound deadening tar stuff. It will get into the pits and valleys of the tar and freeze it really well. Chip it of with a hammer and a chisel and you're good to go.
I would remove EVERYTHING from the car icluding the dash. Remove all the harnesses and open them up. Get a Helm manual and just trace the wires you REALLY NEED and wire them up and toss the rest.
