Default OBD-0 to OBD-1 conversion

I need to make my own conversion harness. I have all the ecu plugs and wires but I need help on where the wires go. I already searched and found nothing. Anything will help.

True that...but sometimes u end up losing money if u have problems and have to check pin for pin to find it (time is money u know). I look at it this way, ur gonna spend the money now or later, so y not just spend it now and save yourself the headache later. But back on topic, search a lil bit more using different key words.

i would honestly get a plug and play harness... doing it your self is cool and all but its so not worth the hassle. just my opinion.
good luck

On the other hand, conversion harnesses are a pain in the butt because you are stuck with all those extra plugs and wires under the dash taking up space. Hard-soldering 1992+ plugs makes for a MUCH cleaner install. Also, soldering your own plugs allows you to use different wires for different sensors. For instance, if you have an SI, you can use the fast idle valve wires for the purge valve and the purge valve wires for the VTEC pressure switch. This both makes the wiring neater and takes care of the differences in the way the purge valve is operated on a 1988-1991 SI vs a 1992-1995 car.

Another problem with conversion harnesses is that they are all made for MPFI cars. DPFI cars have slightly different wiring. So pins need to be moved around if you want to use such a harness on a DPFI car. Also, such harnesses don't use the tandem valve control solenoid wire for the oxygen sensor heater (which means you don't have to run another wire). Unless, of course, you just solder it.

Also, I don't like the fact that some conversion harnesses match distributer wires by the sensor rather than by color (which is simpler and MUCH more logical).

or you could do that in the conversion harness if you make it yourself. people use a harness so they can revert back to obd-0 easily.

I've been trying to find information on making my own conversion harness OBD0-->OBD1 and have found a couple of sites so far. Hopefully they can help you.

Exactly why i m ade my own!
I don't have any spare wires running around. I did an auto to manual and a DPFI to MPFI and OBD0 to OBD1. I filed all the stock firewall plugs up with VTEC and 02 wires.

check out

http://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/

lots of good info there; there is a huge thread about obd0-obd1 conversion.
and speaking from experience don't hardwire that ****
WHAT EVER YOU DO DO NOT HARDWIRE THAT ****

you will hate yourself 2 months later when it finally maybe works right. Build your own conversion harness and quadruple check the wiring.

Just to poke my nose in on this thread, the $75 harnesses are total junk and not worth it. I've repaired way to many of those to feel confident about their quality. Spend a little more money and get something decent.
