Default CEL Code 4... Not the Dist.

***Searched BTW

Hey guys I have an EF with a sohc zc...mpfi swap whatever.. when i got it the cel light was on and it is code 4 the crank sensor. So i replaced the dist. still have the light. I check the wires and they SEEM correct never did a mpfi swap so i just checked a website that had a how to and match the wires up. Everything looks ok. If the wires are fine and the dist. is fine what else can it be? Or does it have to be on or the other? TIA Shaun

did you bother to follow the flow charts in the FSM? they help alot if you dont have the FSM go get it.

Yes - distributor or wires.

I would check the wires first.

Why are you pulling the engine out???

U should check the grounds to the wire and the ECU. If those check fine, then its your distributor. I don't see why you would need to take out and rebuild the engine. SEems like more of a hassle. I am having the same exact problem.
