changing timing belts
It looks almost certain that I'm going to be buying 2000 itr next week. The car has slightly over 60K miles. I read somewhere (in a British magazine) that the timing belts on itr's had to be changed at 60K, but in searching around on this and other boards, I don't see anyone talking about automatically changing timing belts at 60K as part of routine maintenance. What's the word on this? Just trying to assess my initial costs. Thanks!
UK/Euro Honda recommend 60k miles or 5 years which ever come first. because of that i always tended to change the t/b any honda i've owned in the past in or around 50-55k. I dont know why there is a difference in both sides of the atlantic as both belts should be the same....the euro ITR belt is made by a company called 'gates' and 99% of ITR owners this side just buy the 'Gates-Powergrip' belt instead of paying double to honda for the exact same belt!
