how can i tell what my wiring harness is?? searched,
i have a cx, but the guy use to have a gsr motor in it so i dont know if he changed the whole harness or just rewired the cx one. Now i need to install an obd1 gsr harness to make it work for the new motor i bought. so how can i check what the harness is?
get a wiring diagram of the ecu plugs and look for differences in wire color... like some guys will just wire up vtec with whatever wire they need. they don't/won't give a **** about the color. that's all i got *shrugs*
Plug the GS harness into your main harnes by the pass side shock tower.
One by one see if wires on each side of the plug match up to each other.
Also check if there are any extra wires coming from the firewall. If there are, it means he ran the GSR engine some custom way, and you'll need to do some mods for the GSR harness to work.
On the other hand, if he already had a GSR engine in there, the harness will still have all the wires on it, maybe unused at the moment, but still there. Look on the harness for them - maybe after all you wont need to use a new harness.
