im currently looking into buying a set of yokohama es100's. anyone have experience with these? how long did they last/how did they wear in comparison to how you drove. anything would be appreciated, thanks
I would like to know how these compare to Falkens in wet weather conditions.
I need another set of tires to drive to the track on and to have around for rain, its either these or Falkens.

I tracked these tires on sunday at infineon....overall thumbs up on them...certainly aren't a pure race tire, but stuck well and is a decent street tire.
hasn't rained in four months so i can't comment on wet road performance

I've had them for about 5k now. I've been to the track a few times and of course ripped a few corners here and there. They seem to be wearing well and are a very predictable tire. If your looking for something with a lot of grip, I would get some Falken's or something similar. But for a good all around tire for mild performance and everyday driving the ES-100's are nice, smooth, and quiet. Good luck!
I have a set of ES100s on the stock wheels, and Azenis on a set of Esses Speedmasters.
I haven't tracked either tire.
So far I am very pleased with the ES100s, quiet, very good traction, good rain traction as well.
They are heavily backordered right now in certain sizes, last I heard from Discount Tire was an 8 week backorder for 205/50/15 (I have 195/55/15)
The Azenis everyone pretty much knows, excellent grip, extremely heavy, loud, not that great in the rain, but very cheap and available.
For the stock wheels I like the stock size of the ES100s, I like them better than the Kumho Supra 712s, and a little bit better than the Dunlop FM901s

Have a set on the GS-R, haven't used them up yet, but... based on the wear so far, it looks like they will last significantly longer than the RE010. (I have 23K miles on my original RE010 and they still have about 5/32" of tread.) And typical treadlife on the RE010 is significantly longer than the Falken Azenis.

I have the ES 100 for street and Azenis for track/autox. The ES 100 is a great tire for the street especially if you have stiff springs. Runs great in the rain (standing water, no problems). I was running on the Kumho before the Yokos and the Yokos are far better in traction and wear.
I've used the ES100 in 195/55 for a few months now. They're not as responsive or grippy as the stock RE010's but they're decent for the price. They did hold up well at the expo.

Looks like these will be my rain tires. I just dont want them to fall apart if I do need to use them in dry conditions.

I was disappointed with them. Drive them hard enough and you will kill them easily.
My girl killed the pass. front in one track day.
I would not recommend them for any kind of serious dry weather track driving.

i hate them, you will have no problems with them on the street untill after about 10K on them, they loose all traction whatsoever (our snow tires on 15in steelies work better) and after you start to wear them down (>50% tread) you have to watch out of lots of water becase they start to hydro plane. BTW this experience is based on a set of 205/55/16s on a 02 GTI 1.8T

I've had a set for my street tires for about six months. I'm happy with them on the street vs. the Kumho Ecstas, and they're great in the rain. I've also done 2 autoxs on them (once because of rain, once because I was too lazy to switch tires), and they held up well, but not competitive with Azenis in the dry.

As opposed to most other days...?

Based on a set of 195/55-15 on a '94 GS-R, everything posted above is NOT TRUE. No loss of traction whatsover as they wear (now have around 20K on them, I think), no hydro planing at all. (Of course, any tire does better in the rain with more tread than with less tread.)
