Removing rust?

Removing rust?
i just removed the entire air filter & resonator box and replaced it with a CAI but the problem is that there is rust on the bottom near battery. Is that rust there common? How can i be able to remove it easily? thanx

if you go to pep boys or like autozone they have a gel or paste that you out on it after you sand it to get rid of rust. then just coat it with some paint
