Would only enlarging the charge piping on a stock evo cause any problems? Would they have to get more fuel in as well for the added air coming in? I have no clue about FI, but I am trying to find out for my sister as her b/f is going off of what a friend is telling him. The guy is making all the stuff for him, but my sis is worried they will screw something up..

Could someone just say yes or no, I don't understand FI. I have searched and really can't find anything mentioning upgrading to larger pipes only and the effects it will cause.

well i doubt it'll blow the motor just by make bigger/larger diamater piping. It could how ever either increase or decrease performance or not make a difference at all. If you go too large and the turbo don't push enough air hence loss of pressure, if its too small and the turbo push too much air the air won't be able to move as fast. Get it? i'm sure its been discussed before if you search archives for "charge pipe"

 

there will be no performance gain, if anything a performance loss/ waste of time even tryin to make it. you can go the asme size and smoothen out the bends on the evo sysytem but overall its pretty efficient./

EXACTLY! By doing this he will proly lose a descent amt. of low end tq.! It will not hit full boost as soon and will only be an advantage when running MORE BOOST
