Default NJ: Tuning near South Jersey?

I'm getting my forged pistons installed as soon as the block comes back from getting bored and the pistons have a 9:1:1 compression. I need to find a place close to Burlington to get my car tuned. I would like to find a place that comes highly recommended cause i'm soooo tired of shotty work!!!! Please give me some info so i can be one step closer to getting my baby back on the road

Thanks in Advance

Edited for poor typing

I was thinking about this earlier....Jersey kinda beat for "real" tuner shops....atleast as far as I know.....anyway, there used to be a shop in Burlington near the VW dealership....SKR performance.....I haven't heard a thing about them in over a year, but they used to tune 240's, supra's, and other high hp cars...

i know the other guys were crafty but i was cool with elliot... when i blew my motor he hooked it up. supposedly he was selling the motors that they swapped out, don't hate him cause he thought of it before the owners did.
There was also a rumor going around that they ransacked a prelude that was sitting out front of the shop for a while ...someone stole a FMIC and some more **** that was easily thieveable but they told him when he left the car there that they're not responsible for it cause they can't babysit it 24 hrs a day. People were saying that it was the guys from SKR that stole the stuff but i doubt it...there were alot of people that knew what kinda work and parts went through there. Someone prolly scoped out the prelude and did a ****** and grab. There a quite a few of undesireables that live in that area and in NJ...

They're closed now because once elliot left so did alot of their business, not all but alot. Those that stayed with them usually left unhappy...for example...When i got my motor swap done i also had them put on the AEM cam gear and pulleys, but when they did someone put on the cam gear with a torque gun causing the cam seal to sit wrong. A month down the road the seal went and was spewing oil all over my engine compartment...the guys there wanted like $400+ to fix a mistake that they made...that was when i stopped going to them...

"RPI"
they did my boys turbo GSR hatch which is insane...they were featured like 3 times back to back in import tuner. they actually did a turbo type S that was in import tuner. Definetly know their shiet. My boy lives past Poughkipsie in the Boonies far far upstate and takes his car to RPI in Nj. If its not near you its definetly worth the extra drive.

they were supposed to get my friend an s13 front clip...my friend gave them the money...waited damn near 6 months. thing is...skr never put the order in and just kept giving my friend stupid excuses...like "oh it's stuck in customs...". my friend cancelled and we had to go to elliott's house to get his money. .38's owned elliott's bitch ***. i don't think i've ever seen anyone so scared..haha.

elliott's an *** in the shop too. when he gets mad..he throws tools at the cars and **** like that. if your car took longer than was said...he damaged it and had to fix it. that's how they work over there.

I can understand the reason for the frustration, they were so busy and they only had one bay. I was talking to them one time and they were telling me how they were looking for another building, but its still not an excuse to damage someone's vehicle. At least they fixed the cars and didn't try to say, "It was like that when it came in..." Some shops are shiesty like that. He did know his s*** though... that's what's important
to the temper problem...
It looks rather unprofessional...

I didn't ignore what you said about RPI, not at all... it could be farther than i would like to travel with an untuned car (especially the way my luck has been going). I just wanted to find the closest, but reputible, shop to Burlington.

My boy Tony told me about TurboTrix... He has an Evolution VIII but talks alot of **** about it .... he's taking his car there to get tuned

i've heard horror stories about turbotrix blowing up my boy's vr4 and not giving him any compensation for it even when they built him the motor
turbotrix deals mainly with 4g63 so if you don't have one of those i wouldn't reccomend going there just because of lack of experience with them unless i am wrong but whatever
its a relatively small shop but there are a lot of cars, i go to rutgers so i basically pass there all the time

Turbotrix is excellent

and rumors go around about every shop. They do not only work on 4g63's.... go take a look around tons of subarus, some supras, srt's and hondas too.

I'll reccomend Stage2Performance over than turbotrix.
I don't trust turbotrix for the fact that although performance is performance, they will not guarantee their work to some extent.

If no one knows where stage2performance is, then could someone tell me approximately how much it costs to get your car tuned??? If can get a rough estimate i can budget my money better.

thanx

I have to completely disagree.

Performance is performance? Turbotrix has a allwheel drive dyno, TONS of satisfied customers, and they have ran the numbers to back it up. Before you go talking about any shop you should go and find out what they are really about. turbotrix does stand behind there work.

later
