I think alot of people went from the R to the S2k and are pretty satisified. Simply enough...go drive you friends s2k...and get the one you want.

really, you can't beat RWD.. I'm not saying the s2k is nessisarily the car from you, but some RWD car. I went from RWD to FWD, and can honestly say I would have rather taken 3 boots to the nuts.

I honestly like both cars equally as much. I'm not sure which one i would pick. I can say though, the S2000 has a different driving experience that no modified civic/integra could ever provide.

i can tell you i was always more confident diving into corners with FF cars, FR cars have to be treated differently. but on the flip side, FR is a lot more fun on exiting and just in general

if you can really afford it just try to keep your ITR and buy the S2k. i kept my lil green hatch when i bought the s2k...
to keep the best of both worlds.

You live right around the lake from me. After I went from the R into the S2k, i always wanted to climb back into the R. my R was a lot faster than a Stock S and i was able to brake harder/deeper with the R because of the FWD stability but RWD is a lot more fun. To be honest with you, Stock vs. Stock, THe S2k is more fun but you're in Kalamazoo, do you have a winter beater? Keep that in mind too. The S2k isn't as conventional as i thought it would be because of the inability to drive it.

Ill be honest, i have problems with the car's suspension. The car's too light and the suspension is too stiff. Its hard to drive in the rain too. Just giving a heads up. Im not going to be bias in my opinions but i'm in the process of looking for another R right now. Good luck with your decision

its not fair to say that a moded R is faster than a stock S...some mods to the S will take care of that statement quickly....although i have to agree with tthis car as a daily...i drive mine daily...and its not the most comfortable thing...it also doesnt help that im 6'2...in regards to the wheather...keep in mind that this is a rwd sports w/ extreme summer ONLY tires...tires must b fresh...also..i come to see that i dont think honda made this car for daily drivers but intended more for weekends and track usage

well, i dont know what to tell you...

i have owned two type r's, and i would love to have purchased another one...

i now own an s2000,

i did a favor for a friend of mine today and detailed his itr, and when i drove it home, it really made me miss mine...

its hard to explain, but the itr truly is a different breed of car, something very raw about it, it a honda but with the soul of a true race vehicle, even with a/c and a radio....

my advice to you is to truly think long and hard about selling the R, if you need to buy a beater..... if you are worried about theft....

if i had my way i would own both, ITR and S2000.....

Anyone like drifting? If you swapped in the '04 rear susp. goodies and '04 crankshaft for torque and did mild tuning (ecu, proper springs, bolt ons, weight reduction) this thing is just nuts. I borrowed my dads stock '00 S2k and it did slide a little more easily than I hoped, but I had Great control. I just need that stuff called uh skill and could have made a drifting dynamo with this car. If you want a genuine roadster like the old Brits, can't go wrong here.

I comute 88 miles round trip to work everyday in my S2000 its great coming home with the top down and relaxing on my way there. That way all of my work stress is gone when I get there. Not to mention weekends Picking on "american Muscle cars"

Nothing like smoking a fuel hungry Camaro in a "4 banger?"

i bought a slightly used type R (5k miles) while i owned a 2000 S2000..... i personally didn't like the Type R at all due to being used to the S2000.

I lost every street race (ya ya ya street racing kills.....) in the type R, it seemed like it had horrible body roll (compared to the S2000), etc.....

I don't think I could ever go back to a fwd car now...... I have an Evo that kicks both of their asses...

(i still have a beater s2000 though too, so I am allowed to post here)

IMO Drag racing should never be a reason to buy a Honda anyway. That said though, any kind of racing where you accelerate (which as all of them as far as I know), you want the power at the rear wheels where the weight is going to be, so the s2k would be the obvious choice in that respect. However, I do have to agree that the s2k has some crazy lift-throttle oversteer and every time I went into a turn I was a little nervous. With my Civic though I never think twice about going into a turn.
