DIY strut bars.
Has anyone made their own strut bars front or rear. I just got a welder and am itching for some projects. So if anyone had done this before could you let me know about how you did it. Materials and measurements would be excelent even if you have an after market one the measurments would be a big help. The most tricky thing I think would be the brackets that bold to the strut towers. So help me out here guys and I'll be sure to do a write up about it when I get it finished.
Cheers,
Dan

well, i would start with a cheap ebay strut bar in the back, then make a L flange, and make a 3 point to the rear trunk bolts. It would pretty simple design,
I made a Trunk Bar (soon to turn into a X bar to the rear strut bar) and a C pillar bar. And i didnt need a welder to make any of them.
I just used a Vice Grip and a mallet and alot of measuring. Also a drill.
Basically you just get some 1 inch steel gas line from Home Depot (about 10 bucks) then measure how long it is and then cut it. And then start smashing it (great stress reliever
) Then once you measure it up good youll be able to drill your holes and take out the bolts that are there and reuse them. Its pretty simple.
Oh yea the Vice Grip was to bend the metal when it needed to be a certain degree
