Default cold idle start

Is it normal that when i start my car it kicks up at 2,000-2,200rpm right away? I always thought it should be a lot lower than that.... anyone know if this needs to be adjusted and how?

It should go up there for a few mins then drop back down. It might go higher on cooler days. It's just a to keep it running until the engine warms up a little bit.

Just a little update, it is NOT normal to have your car start up at 2,200-2,400 rpm in the morning... i just replaced my fast idle valve yesterday and this morning the car started at 1,500rpm... big difference, and it feels much safer
