Hi im new to this site after spending quite some time over at honda-acura.net.My friend said this was a much more technical forum so i decided to give it a shot.As you could tell by my name i have a 1990 crx si with the d16a6 in it.It has like over 141k on it and its burning oil pretty bad....it just seems to be dissappearing.Anyhow i want to do a swap for a number of reasons....i just bought the car,its in amazing condition,everything is tight and most of all i want to go fast I am planning on going N/A only and i was considering using the jdm spec b16a1 with the cable tranny and the si-r ecu.Anyhow I have never done any swap on any japanese car...only on american cars so i have an idea what im getting into...but im not sure.I am a pretty good mechanic and i do my own work on everything but i heard that there are some wiring changes and stuff.....i dunno.I am only 17 and ill be 18 soon so im starting young at this but right now im saving money for it...my friend can get me a nice jdm motor and ecu and tranny for cheap...i just gotta get mounts and all the litte things......i guess i can get the motor stuff for about 1400 bones which is good but i gotta find the mounts and stuff......I guess i just need guidance on this....should i try it,how much will it cost and how long should it take and what are some tricky things about swaps.....keep in mind im good with a wrench but ive never done this before.....thanks for everything.Ryan.
