Default Drilling spot welds all that's required to remove roof?

I'd like to get a complete roof/sunroof assembly at the junkyard so I can have everything in-tact.

Do you just drill the spot welds out of the roof? Will it pop out [pry out?] after that assuming you have the glass free from it?

Ive nver done it, Check it out at the junk yard, and look how its held in there. if You ARE going to do it, make sure you Stress up chassie. Weld in some braces. all that stuff, so the body doesnt flex. the roof is Very much important in the CRX to keep the Chassie ridgid.

you'd have to remove the windshield ( hopefully not breaking it ) and also the rear hatch. If you want an easier way just buy an aftermarket sunroof. If your gonna go through all the **** to replace the whole roof buy the SiR all glass one.

This is for a sedan.

I'm going to have to blend the two roof sections...Civic Si, CRX, Integra...whatever I can find the best sunroof from.

I know I need to remove the front and rear windows, but the actual ROOF....is it just drilling out the spot welds?

there was a post very recently about swapping the roofs in a CRX. post name was like... talk about a sunroof... or something like that. they just drilled out the spot welds and some minor metal work and dropped the new skin on. didn't look really difficult, but i don't think i would try that myself.

search for the post....it has pictures too.

Found it....

Too be honest you're better off just going and purchasing an aftermarket one instead of going through the hassle of that, but more power to you if you do go the route you're speaking of.

Well, I want a POWER sunroof.....I got quoted like $1200 installed for one, and it honestly didn't look as good/work as good as the OEM Honda one.

My roof is dented to crap right now anyway (which means I'd have to do roof work anyway), I could probably get this done for ~$100 or so if I do all the work myself.
