Anyone know of a 15" steelie?
I am just looking for a 15" steelie that has roughly a 40mm offset for my hatch. I would love to have some all season radials on 15" steelies and keep the car kinda "beater" looking, yet have better grip.
Anyone have any info?

Hey guys,
I was also thinking about getting some 14 or 15" steelies for my car and running bigger brakes. But I remember freading that an added benefit of running rims with a lot of open space is the brakes get more airflow through it to cool the brakes.
I dont know if that was BS or if had some truth to it, but it sounds like it makes sense. Would a rim with more open areas then that steelie have slightly better cooling? or would the difference hardly be noticeable?

hey whats up. just though i would tell you that my friend's rotors on his integra did not dissipate the heat (with the steelies) as nearly as good as when he had his RH C5's on them. he wanted to see how big of a difference there was between the two and under hard braking his rotors turned blue with the steelies and he said lost a lot of his stopping power.

Well he would lose more stopping ability compared to a 14" steelie that has a 5 inch wide tire and fat tire sidwalls. The C5's were probably 17's and had a wider contact patch @7 inches and a sidewall that would buckle under hard braking.
The 01 and up civic ex's i know come with 15" steelies

the scion's have a smaller center hub, so they won't go on straight. the vw's use a larger hub center bore, so they go on fine, just a little harder to put the lugs on till you get used to it. some saturns have 15 inch steelies, i'm not sure of the center bore, though.
our honda's have a hub bore of 56.1 mm
oh, and i have the part number for those vw corrado steelies, i'm gonna look for it, then edit this when i find it.
here it is, if you want new ones, go to the vw dealer and ask for four
357 601 025 M wheels, but vw dealers are sometimes expensive, so a junkyard might be a good idea, too.

umm... I dunno how just rims are "less ricer" but steelies are also quite heavy. redstandardhatch is running VX HX? wheels with hubcaps on them. I think that is ideal for the clean oem look.

shipping alone probably costs $59 or more, so yes.
aren't most newer Civic stock steelies 15s? the ones on my wagon are 15" steelies from a 99-00 Civic. i don't know about the offset, though. i got them with halfway decent tires for $150, i think. better than the 13s it was riding on when i bought it.
