why wont my car go in reverse
its 90 hatch 5spd and i cant get it to go into reverse for anything it just wont go in teh reverse position at all and i dont know why it works in all other gears though. please help. asap

you shouldn't have to force it greatly to put it in any gear, a swift crack of the wrist should do it. if it won't go in gear after putting it in 1st or 2nd or other gears the ***** shot and its locked out of gear.
sometimes you can get away with just taking it apart and giving it a good cleaning and just putting it back together. either way you should go ahead and get it rebuilt cause its downhill from here. friend got locked out of reverse, then 2nd, then 3rd, then 5th... he finally stopped driving when he only had 1st and 4th.
