DC Headers exhaust leak @ CAT! HELP!!!!!!!!!!
Ok I installed my dc sports 4-1 CC headers today. I have a problem there is an exhaust leak where the cat meets the headers. I did not use any type of gasket is that a problem? Also the metal hanger was not installed because I am going to put it on tomarrow (I was in a T shirt and it got real cold
) So I need to know if I should have used some type of gasket, send it back, or it will be fixed when I put the metal hanger on or is there something else wrong?

There should be a donut gasket in between the cat and header. You need to pick up that gasket and pop it on, and your exhaust leak will be toast.
The metal hanger is just for support...no big deal. You may get some rattles and your better off with it on, but its not life-threatening.

THIS IS GOOD NEWS!!

Sucked! but now that I know why that is and it was not just a falty header I am gonna go get the gasket tomarrow! any chance ne one knows a part number for the doughnut gasket?

What kind of headers ? If its DC sport, Apex, Comptech then go to the dealer and get a stock gasket. If you have the JDM type R 4-1 headers, spoon, Mugen, JDM dc sports you will need to order one from a performance shop.
they bolt up to the factory cat I just realized I still had a doghnut gasket on my factory mani so I am gonna try to swap that one over!
I also noticed my car felt much slower hopefully it was the exhaust leak! I am goning to be dissapointed if they have this much of a loss on bottom end! I also felt a loss up high so I am pretty sure it is the gasket and not the headers being 4-1

That's exactly what I did. Me and a friend put the header on and there was an exhaust leak. All you need to do is get the donut gasket off of your stock header and put that in it's place. BUYAH no more leak.
SCORE!!!
OK I did it the leak is fixed. I also noticed a jump in power! Runs and sounds a hella bunco better! Thanks to all the people that posted!
