there's no freaken way he got that for $500 unless he got that from his dad. there's nothing wrong with it from the looks of it and even at an auction perfect shells go for about $1000+!!! maybe $5000 would be a believable price

My principal came upto me one day and asked "Wanna buy my car?" and I said "Sure, how much?" he said "$650" I can't say no to that. I'd be crazy, a b18a1 with 60k miles and the body with 172k. Damn
there's some crazy people man, in this case he just cut me a huge deal.

Now that you have the teaser.... here are the details.
The car was owned by a coworker that bought the car and drove it till something made a noise or broke. He would then take it to the dealer, and has everything done that they recommend. So service on the car was sporadic but was done.
Driving home from work last week, the timing belt went on the car while he was doing 30mph. He had AAA tow it to the nearest Acura dealer where they install a new TB and performed a full diagnostics on the car. Technician found 10% compression on the #1 cylinder while recommended a complete brake job.
The coworker, considering a new car anyways, decided to go out and purchase a new car. Not knowing how bad the engine was, I offered him $500.
I got the car home Saturday, did a compression test on #1 and got 45%. However, I discovered drops antifreeze under the value cover (this explains the low compression). Knowing the head gasket had failed, I am going to pull the head, and see how the bottom end is and go from there.
Immediate modification plans are, full exhaust, and performance clutch.
All in all even if I had to swap the entire engine I still figure I am ahead of the game!
PS: I am not a dealer, and thou I make a few nickels, I'm not "rich". I pick up my toys cheap, and fix them up.
