you will be using a few wires from each connector.

You are missing a very important set of instructions. There should also be a diagram with the ecu pinouts that correspond to the wires you need to splice into. The vafc 1's diagrams can be found on http://www.apexi.com but the vafc2's diagrams are not on the website.

I'm sure they are the same between the two versions, but i believe the vafc 2 has a few more wires that need to be spliced in. ( due to the added functions ) I'm not 100% sure about that though.

the three plugs are different sizes so it should be self explanatory which one to use.

I.E. vtec signal, IG power, etc. on this plug, VTM, etc. on tis plug.

As far as the location on the connector, the diagram is of the plug facing the ecu. You have to match the corresponding wire on the back side to the pinout.

hook it up correctly and then you can play. Seriously i wouldn't **** with it until it is completely installed. I believe the instructions also say something to that effect.

BTW, yes you should hook up all the wires. I don't know how the other guy used it without VTC signal hooked up but you should definetly install all the wires.

do i just tap into the existing wires?

Try going to #3 etc then going to #10 intialize to clear all memory...

btw... I didn't hook up "VTC" or the "TDC" wire...... you don't need them unless you have I-Vtec
